D-20 Rockwheel Trenching in Halifax
The Project
A trench was required for a housing developmennt in Illingworh, Halifax to locate a sewage pipe, the trench was 6M deep X 1.2M Wide in
Yellow sandstone with a Unified Compressive Strength of 75 MPa, Cerchar Abasive Number 4.55.
The Solution
A D-20 Rockwheel with T1 picks attached via a quick hitch adapter bracket to a Daewoo 220 set at 320 Bar working pressure at a power of 40KW, the excavation rate
achieved was 3.5M³/hour and the pick useage was measured to be an average of 4 Pick Per cbic Metre.
