D-20N Rockwheel Excavating In Alton Towers

The Project

The project involved excavating an 8 metre deep hole in sandstone for the foundations of the new ride at Alton Towers ‘Thirteen’. As the D-20N Rockwheel does not create as much noise and vibration where as the traditional hammer would, the theme park was kept open and nearby rides/shops etc. were not affected. The contractor TG Cruse was so pleased with the D-20N Rockwheel they decided to buy two.
