We recently supplied and installed a new Echidna D4HP Diamond Rock Saw for a customer working in a slate quarry environment.
Fitted with a powerful 1800mm diamond blade, the D4HP delivers clean, controlled cutting performance for demanding rock and stone applications.
Designed for excavators in the 10–25 tonne range, the D4HP was ideally matched to the customer’s JCB JS131 excavator. The result is a high-performance cutting solution built for precision, reliability and continuous operation in abrasive conditions.
The Echidna D4HP combines cutting power with operator safety and efficiency. Key features include:
With up to 100kW of power and torque output reaching 1110Nm, the D4HP delivers the force needed for continuous cutting in hard rock conditions.
In addition, the 1800mm blade setup provides an excellent balance between cutting depth and productivity.
The D4HP is well suited for:
Unlike conventional hydraulic breakers, diamond rock saws create cleaner cuts with greater control. They also reduce vibration, overbreak and unnecessary material damage.
As a result, operators gain improved accuracy and a more consistent finish.
Our team completed the full installation and commissioning process on-site.
This included integrating the attachment with the excavator’s hydraulic system and configuring the machine for optimal flow and pressure settings. The D4HP operates within a recommended hydraulic flow range of approximately 99–182 lpm, making it an excellent match for the JCB carrier machine.
Following installation, we carried out full operational checks to ensure the customer could begin work immediately and with confidence.
Diamond rock saw attachments continue to grow in popularity across quarrying, demolition, utilities and civil engineering industries.
They offer several advantages over traditional breaking methods, including:
For operators working in demanding rock conditions, the Echidna D4HP provides a powerful and highly efficient cutting solution.
We supply and install a wide range of hydraulic rock saws and specialist excavator attachments for quarrying, demolition, utilities and civil engineering applications.
